First-time buyers will be able to reduce the costs involved in purchasing a property once Home information packs (Hips) are extended to one and two-bedroom homes, according to HipHipHooray.com
The full rollout of Hips will take place on December 14th, and the pack provider has said that reduced conveyancing costs will make the pack a valuable asset for buyers.
The comments are at odds with those made by longstanding critics of the packs such as the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), which has said that Hips will damage the market.
"First time buyers usually have high quite a high conveyancing bill when they're purchasing a property," said Lesley Sorridimi from HipHipHooray.com.
"What the Hip should do is supply them with much of the information that they have had to have collected on their behalf and [been] charged for".
"So, for instance, a local authority search can, depending on your area, be anything from £60 to £300 and that alone is worth getting the Hip for," noted Ms Sorridimi.
