East London lifted by good transport links

East London is an attractive location for investment properties because of its reliable and ever-improving transport links.

The ease with which people can get around is hugely important when choosing where to live and therefore has an impact on property prices.

One of the main reasons that parts of East London around the Olympic village have seen so much interest from investor buyers is that the Games will require significant improvements in transport infrastructure.

According to Paul Collins of the property website Buy Association, the area is already well-stocked, with City Airport proving a positive rather than a negative factor.

"It's very much a business airport so it's only really private jets and smaller aircrafts," he said. "So the disruption is fairly minimal... the noise isn't that bad.

"The transport infrastructure in the area is improving hugely... so it's more of an advantage than a really bad thing."
 
East London already has decent bus, underground, rail and light rail links but additional investment is planned between now and when the Games kick off in four years' time.
